About
Traditional outcome measures in neuromodulation trials have relied heavily on pain scores alone. Composite outcome measures integrating pain intensity, function, quality of life, and patient satisfaction are increasingly recognized as more meaningful indicators of treatment success. This session will review emerging composite metrics and discuss their application in clinical research and practice, as well as a call to action to align on a composite responder rate which is standardized for assessment of clinical effectiveness. Areas requiring further research on composite outcomes such as the impact on minimal clinically important difference (MCID) of each of the components of composite outcomes will also be addressed.
